2 small things

I thought the plucked instrument (the guitar or lute or something) was a little heavy handed, and the high notes of the violins were a bit hard to bear but apart from that, very nice work. The sort of chords and harmonies you used sorta reminded me of Sword of Mana game.
One last thing- did you use classical vsts for this because I have none and consequentially am extremely limited if I try and do classical stuff. Just asking..

LadyArsenic responds:

Well, I wanted the guitar to sound heavy. There was no main instrument in this song. Just two dual ones in a whirling symphony of lost control. I didn't really use my head when I wrote this song; just my heart.
I actually used Fruityloops for this. =/ Sorry Charlie.

dude....

so many sections! You could have made about 8 different songs out of that. Imo the different sections kinda ruined the progression, though they were quite good in themselves.

DeathbyGamingX responds:

i know... lol... but hey its kinda interesting how i came up with this song... lol.. i got bored and start synthing my voice and i couldnt think of a way to transition it.

See, this is what I like about ambient music.

The way it has this calm power about it. Good about this piece is it sounds just like its name. Evokes the image, good theme tune, good escalation of the emotion as the music progresses. Especially liked :48 onwards.
But I think it was kinda too simple, The timp beat was lacking, predictably beating every 2 bars, the piano when it came in was only playing single notes all by itself and the ending was too abrupt for this kind of music (I'm talking about 1:11).
Don't get me wrong, I think it's good, but it could be better.

ProudOne responds:

Thanks for your Extended comment, dude! I like critizism it helps me improve. To be honest i rather dislike this song XD and i was wndering why it got a score like that from lots of people, i think is overrated and that you are right.

pristine

one suggestion: That synth that comes in a 1:08 I thought was a little too prominent. I would have preferred it to be an equal member of the sound scape rather than a lead. But I like your stuff so Im gonna keep an ear out ok.

mellowmushroom00 responds:

yea i just couldnt really find something that would go with it.. ive upgraded vsts since then so im sure ill find somethin... but thanks.. im workin on new stuff right now.. i wont let it go til im sure its good and done, but keep lookin

Woooooo!

Waitin for this to load i was thinkin "probs some messy heavy metal crap" but this tune is epic and inspiring. Along with them kickass drums i think it would go well in any flash when something cool and climactic happens. Very nice tune, very nice. Melodies can be hard to dream up. Er... so jus consider what below said.

mellowmushroom00 responds:

i appreciate it.. ive got a lot of work, most of my stuff on here is just rough draft, a lot of them have been fine tuned so im just waitin til i get it all together, but keep lookin ive got some more stuff comin out soon

for some reason

i am very impressed. Maybe it has something to do with the way the piano mixes with the clean cymbals and the bass with those background effects, but its relaxing and also NOT boring. Glad you're being careful how you extend it, don't wanna wreck this beauty. You're geting a rare 5 vote from me man and a download.

mellowmushroom00 responds:

i really appreciate it.. ive been messing with this software for years and im just now really starting to make decent music.. but yes i am going to be very careful.. 95% of what i try to add gets canned.. so im just waiting til i find the perfect sound. and thanks again

Darkness

Finally ambience that's evil and not all relaxing!
I could see everything you said there in my head listening to this and it was vivid like I was dreaming about it or half there. Very horrible shit. In a good way. Could be in a birdseye zombie shooter. Not one of those dumb killing fest ones but something more quiet and fearful. Check out my song Drops of Darkness if you want, kinda dark.

JakesFable responds:

Sure thing man and thanks for the craving review kinda gave me the chillz for a second.

you know

Call me crazy but if I wanted to kill my equipment i would have used a hammer.
Eatable panties... that would be awesome! You could spray em on and then lickem off and voila!(not in urself)
The beauty of experimental is someone says "that's shit" and then you say "thats how it's meant to sound!" Because there are no flaws I can hear and i'm seeing panties I 10 you.

Auecs responds:

this is pretty much the best review i have ever gotten! Thanks so much!

Keep it real!

ableton is better than fl!

A very relaxing piece of music that goes well in the background to add atmosphere to the situation. What synths/plugins do you use? Are they free?

Gillenium responds:

I do agree that Ableton is better than FL. However, I made this song before I ever knew about Ableton Live :P I couldn't tell you what plugins I used for this song, because all of my song files from this era are gone. I lost them in a hard drive crash. So, I can't remix them or change them apart from redoing everything. But, thanks for the review!

fuk

It IS kinda creepy, despite it not sounding very creepy or not sound like it is supposed to be. Sounds almost happy or comical. Maybe that is why it is creepy. I'm thinking of and abandoned playground or carousel with happy clown faces painted everywhere but the place is all run down, dark and decrepid...hm! Interesting...

Pandoryk responds:

I'm not a big fan of this song I've done :P The next I'm preparing will be better!
But I found something really interesting in it and it's pleasant to read what you wrote! ^^
Thx for the review!! =D
